제목 | Sol-gel Transition Behavior of Biodegradable PEG-Polyester Triblock and Star-Block Copolymer Solution |
초록 | Temperature-sensitive polymers have been studied extensively as drug delivery systems by many researchers for the past decades. The commercial poly(ethylene oxide-b-propylene oxide-b-ethylene oxide) (PEO-PPO-PEO, Pluronic (BASF) or Poloxamer (ICI)) series has become the center of attention to be used as injectable drug delivery system because it shows sol-gel-sol transition behavior as the temperature increased1. However, it has drawbacks such as non-degradability, toxicity, and dissolution of the gel after administration. So, a considerable investigation of biodegradable block copolymers of PEO and polyester is now under way. We developed biodegradable triblock and star-shaped block copolymers consisting of poly(ethylene) (PEO)-b-(DL-lactide-co-glycolide) were synthesized by using nontoxic ethylene glycol, glycerol and pentaerythritol as initiators. The micellization behavior and micelle size of the block copolymer in the dilute solution state were investigated by UV-Vis and dynamic light scattering. The temperature-dependent sol-gel transition behavior of the concentrated solution was investigated by the tube tilting method. The result obtained in this study confirmed the relationship between the sol-gel transition properties and the polymer architecture. 참고문헌 1. B.
