Preparation and characterization of PLGA/geltain double layer microparticles for dual delivery system |

We prepared double layer microparticles for dual delivery system consisting of poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) and gelatin as a synthetic degradable polymer and natural degradable polymer, respectively. First, PLGA particles loading green fluorophore grafted bovine serum albumin (BSA) were prepared and were subsequently encapsulated with gelatin microparticle loading red fluorophore grafted BSA. The fabricated double layer microparticles were observed by fluorescence microscope, scanning election microscope (SEM) and so on. In the microparticles, the green fluorescence was observed at the PLGA particles whereas the red fluorescence was at gelatin region. Furthermore, dual release pattern of each BSA proteins loaded in the microparticles was investigated in buffer solution by ELISA analysis. This double layer microparticles will provide a useful tool to efficiently deliver and control various types of biomolecules such as drug, cytokine, growth factors. |
