Aliphatic polyester has been used as controlled drug delivery matrix, implantation, and hydrogels. The introduction of poly(ethylene glycol) in polyesters group polymers for more effective drug delivery has advantages such as controlled drug release, improved biocompatibility, non-toxicity, and protein resistivity. In this study, we synthesized MPEG-polyesters diblock copolymers using ring-opening polymerization of ε-caprolactone, L-lactide, (L-lactide-co-glycolide), trimethylene carbonate and p-dioxanone with MPEG as an initiator in presence of HCl·Et2O, Sn(Oct)2. After uniform mixing of block copolymers and 1% albumin bovine-fluorescein isothiocyanate as a model protein with a freeze miller. The release profiles of albumin on PBS showed various initial burst related to polyester block. In conclusion, the wafer formed by MPEG-polyesters diblock copolymers could be a promising foundation for protein delivery. Acknowledgement : This work was supported by KMOHW (0405-BO01-0204-036) |
