Polymer light-emitting diodes (PLEDs) have been studied for applications in next generation flat-panel displays and in large-area light sources. Recently, a number of π-conjugated polymers have been designed, synthesized, and investigated. Among the polymeric materials, 2,7-carbazole-based organic materials could be very interesting for electroactive and photoactive devices. Since carbazole units linked with vinylene units at the 2- and 7-positions could able to lead a longer conjugation length in materials than all other reported carbazole derivatives. We synthesized poly(carbazolyl- 2,7-vinylene) derivatives and the structures and properties of copolymers were characterized using 1H NMR, 13C NMR, GPC, TGA, DSC, UV-visible spectroscopy , photoluminescence (PL). |
