Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has recently emerged as an attractive technique for cancer therapy. However, PDT still remains a problem because photosensitizer (PS) has been limited by their low selectivity and self-destruction under the laser irradiation. Hence, we designed a tumor targetable and photo-activity controllable nano complexes that consist of a bioinspired nanoparticle core acting as photothermal therapy (PTT) and a photosensitizer(PS)-conjugated biomolecule shell acting as PDT. This core-shell nanocomplexes (CSNC) exhibited an excellent singlet oxygen generation capacity for PDT and were shown capable photothermal conversion ability for PTT. And also, CSNC specifically targeted into cancer cell compared to non-cancer cell. These properties provide superior efficacy against cancer cells. As a results, our system would has a potential strategy for effective cancer therapy. |
