For practical application of biosensors, especially in point-of-care test (POCT) devices, in which portability is essential, current detection devices are problematic in their size, weight and cost. Optical sensor based on surface plasmon resonance (SPR) recently developed in a miniaturized, single-component format (SpreetaTM) has high potential to overcome such problems. In this study, we have shown the capability of picomolar quantitation of biomolecules applying sandwich immunoassay techniques to the miniaturized SPR sensor. |
