Characterization of the modified buffer layer for organic photovoltaic devices |

Organic photovoltaic devices (OPVs) have attracted considerable attention due to their potential for flexible, lightweight, and low-cost applications of solar energy conversion. The fabricated OPVs had the configuration as ITO/Buffer layer/Active layer/Cathode. Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)/poly(4-styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) had been widely used on buffer layer evaluating the efficiency of photovoltaic devices. In this study, we have investigated and modified (PEDOT:PSS) with various organic solvents; dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO), N,N-dimethyl formaide (DMF), tetrahydrofuran (THF) and H2O (as pristine solvent). We show that the modified buffer layer have significant importance for photovoltaic devices with blends of P3HT and PCBM system. |
