제목 Liquid crystal emulsion with skin-like lamella structure for enhancing percutaneous absorption and cell proliferation
초록 External materials cannot penetrate into the skin because of its lamella structure. This lamella structure decreases the diffusion efficiency of skin. So, we used liquid crystal(LC) emulsion instead of o/w emulsion for better skin diffusion efficiency because of its skin-like multi-lamella structure. We used LC emulsion as a carrier of retinyl palmitate. We determined the multi-lamella structure of LC emulsion by freeze-fracture scanning electron microscope. Franz cell diffusion study using synthetic membrane revealed the percutaneous absorption of LC emulsion. In vivo imaging system(IVIS) showed the fluorescent visualization of diffusion efficiency of o/w emulsion and LC emulsion(o/w emulsion : 3.044*10⁹ / LC emulsion : 3.128*10⁹). And we characterized the cellular metabolism and DNA quantity of NIH3T3 cells by MTT Assay and Picogreen assay, respectively. Therefore, we confirmed the enhanced percutaneous absorption and cell proliferation in the LC emulsion compared to o/w emulsion.
