제목 Electronic Mammalian Merkel Cell Sensor
초록 Human`s sensing capability is phenomenal. Especially, human skin constantly interacts with various surrounding and external mechanical stimuli in daily based life. This astonishing ability is originated from numerous receptors (Merkel, Meissener, Ruffini, etc.) in our skin. Unlike the other receptors, Merkel cell shows a unique working principle: Piezo2 proteins open the ion channel gates under mechanical stimuli. Although there have been efforts to keep up with such human skin ability in electronic skin field, the devices always suffer from insufficient working range. In this talk, we propose a whole new type of electronic skin device that directly mimic not only the structure of the mechanoreceptor (Merkel cell) but rather working principle. As a result, the single device detects external stimuli in the range from acoustic pressure to high pressure (human weight), showing ultrahigh sensitivity and low operation power.
