제목 Microfluidic Visualization Study - Motions of Synthetic Nanoparticles for Drug Delivery
초록 Magnetic drug targeting, one sphere of drug delivery system, has been issued since last decade. Someone eat a magnetic drug particle and attach magnet with specific site. For example, liver, stomach, etc. Drug concentratedly acts where magnet attached.
In this study, we experiment with PECA(poly ethyl-cyanoacrylate) magnetic nano particles that were synthesis in laboratory. And also proceed with similar size Fe3O4 particle.
To set up vascular system, magnetic particles under water flow in Microchannel(sq I.D. 500μm) that was affected by magnetic field with permanent magnet(~5000G). Flow images were captured with epi-fluorescence microscope(Olympus BX51). And those were analyzed to obtain vector field using particle tracking velocimetry. PTV method is one of the visualization techniques, velocity vector was calculated by sequence image. Vector fields were acquired for various variances, flow rate and magnetic field strength. Through magnitude of vector, seek the critical point for effective drug targeting. It can reduce side effect of drug.
