Composites made from ATH filled PMMA are being used as engineering materials in structural applications because of their enhanced properties and low production costs. Recently, however, higher mechanical properties are needed in the higher value-addedbusiness. GNPs are nanoparticles with a plate-like structure and high aspect ratio, which render them ideal as fillers for reinforced polymer nanocomposites. In this study, GNPs were filled in PMMA/ATH composites to improve mechanical properties. Mechanical characteristics such as mean flexural modulus, flexural strength and rockwell hardness of the nanocomposites were investigated according to the variation of the GNPs content. |
