Polypropylene/Nylon 6 Blending with Radiation-synthesized Compatibilizers |

Blending two or more polymers offers an economic way to produce new materials with desired property combination. Polypropylene-polyamide blends have received considerable attention due to the combination of the thermomechanical properties of polyamide and easy processing characteristics of polypropylene. In this study, we present the fabrication of polypropylene/ nylon6 blends with radiation-synthesized compatibilizers. The compatibilizers was synthesize by blending various bifunctional molecules with polypropylene followed by high energy radiation. The polypropylene/ nylon6 blending was conducted with these compatibilizers. The resulting blends were characterized by UTM and SEM. |
