In this work, direct-grown carbon nanotube (CNT)-glass fiber (GF) hybrid fillers were prepared by a CVD technique. The morphologies, structural properties, and electrical features of the CNT-GF fillers were measured by SEM, XRD, and a 4-probe technique, respectively. The mechanical properties of CNT-GF/epoxy matrix composites were characterized by the flexural strength. From the results, it was found that the electrical conductivity and mechanical properties were dramatically enhanced with CNT-grown conditions due to the micro-interfacial enhancement among glass fiber surfaces, carbon nanotube surfaces, and epoxy matrix. |
