Synthesis and Characterization of Nanocomposites Based on Pyrene-Grafted Radical Polymers and Carbon Nanotubes |

Radical polymers have been reported to be promising materials for catalysts, and organic rechargeable batteries, and super capacitors. Also, carbon nanotubes are an interesting material for electrical applications. However, the poor dispersability of these materials in different solvents confines their applications. In this study, we have synthesized novel polymers based on pyrene and a radical moiety to produce nanocomposites with single-walled carbon nanotubes in order to improve their dispersion. Characterization of the products were conducted by transmission electron microscopy, UV-vis, FT-IR, and NMR spectroscopy as well as thermal gravimetric analysis. This type of nanocomposites based on carbon nanotubes has a great potential for employment in radical batteries |
