제목 Preparation of Polymer-Grafted Single-Walled Carbon Nanotube Composites via Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization
초록 Single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWNTs) have been attracting considerable interest because of their unique shape and outstanding mechanical and electrical properties. However their insolubility in organic solvents impedes the development of practical applications. One method to improve the solubility of SWNTs is to graft polymer chain directly from carbon nanotubes. We first introduced ATRP initiator on the sidewall of SWNTs and subsequently polymerized styrene from SWNTs by Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization, resulting in polystyrene grafted SWNTs(pST-g-SWNT). The obtained pST-g-SWNT was soluble in various organic solvents such as THF, chloroform, etc. The structure of pST-g-SWNT was confirmed from FT-IR, proton NMR, and Raman analysis.
