PLGA/ Gelatin 3-D scaffolds for Bone Tissue Engineering Applications |

PLGA (poly(lacto-co-glycolide))/ gelatin scaffolds were fabricated by salt-leaching methods. Different ratios of PLGA and gelatin were used to determine the optimal concentration useful for a tissue engineering scaffold. The scaffolds were characterized by SEM visualization of microstructure, FT-IR spectral studies, compressive strength tests, porosity determination and contact angle measurements. The biocompatibility of the scaffolds was determined by cell proliferation assays and visualization of cell adhesion behavior by SEM and confocal microscopy. |
