Effects of the synthesis conditions to the formation of TiO2 nanotube by microwave-assisted hydrothermal method |

TiO2 nanotubes (TNT) synthesized by microwave-assisted hydrothermal method have more attention due to their unique properties: High surface area, ion exchange ability, high yield and low cost. The synthesis conditions such as: precursor, hydrothermal temperature and duration, post treatment (acid washing and calcination), the concentration of alkaline solution, auxiliary methods (ultrasonication and microwave-assistance) play an important role. Therefore, in this work we studied and indicated the effects of hydrothermal temperature (100oC-150oC), hydrothermal time (1-4 hour) and the concentration of NaOH solution (4M-10M) to the formation and properties of products. Samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy (RS), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) and UV-vis DRS spectroscopy. The photocatalytic activity was investigated by degradation of Methylene Blue (MB). |
