제목 Bone Formation of Dexamethasone and Vitamin D3-loaded PLGA Scaffolds for Tissue Engineering
초록 Dexamethasone (Dex) and vitamin D3 (VD3)-loaded biodegradable PLGA scaffolds are synthetic bone substitutes that promote bone formation by osteoconduction and osteoinduction. Dex-VD3 plays as a regulator of osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow stromal cell (BMSC). Dex-VD3/PLGA scaffolds were fabricated using the solvent casting/salt leaching methods and these scaffolds released Dex-VD3 for over 4 weeks in vitro. Dex-VD3/PLGA scaffolds were confirmed in vivo osteogenic potential for tissue engineered bone. From the results, this sustained, besides, constant localized release system can potentially provide Dex-VD3 and encourage calcium and phosphate, which plays an important role for osteoconduction and osteoinduction. These scaffolds may be used for the applications of bone regeneration.
