제목 Investigation on electrorheological efficiencies of various silica-conducting polymer core-shell nanospheres
초록 The various silica-conducting polymer core-shell nanospheres were fabricated in order to investigate the conducting polymer species-related dependencies on the ER efficiencies. The ER efficiency of the silica-conducting polymer core-shell nanosphere based ER fluids increased with decreasing bandgap energy. Moreover, the ER efficiency in turn was in good agreement with the charge carrier mobility values expected from charge transport behavior. Consequently, the bandgap energy and the charge mobility of conducting polymers were identified to be the pivotal parameters in determining the ER efficiency of the silica-conducting polymer core-shell nanosphere based ER fluids. These results might provide a new potential for tailoring material properties and could be used as an alternative tool for the predictable and controllable mechanistic theory of ER fluids.
