제목 Surface Reorganization of Amphiphilic Block Copolymers Studied by Scanning Force Microscopy
초록 We have investigated the surface reorganizations of a novel amphiphilic diblock copolymer in contact with air or water at various temperatures, employing scanning force microscopy. The surface reorganization in response to the changing interface occurs at temperatures significantly below the glass transition temperature of the polystyrene block of the copolymer, poly(acetic acid-2-(2-(4-vinyl-phenoxy)-ethoxy)-ethylester)-block-poly(styrene). Moreover, the roughness analysis shows that the reorganization of the hydrophilic to the hydrophobic surface in air appears at a lower temperature than that of the hydrophobic to the hydrophilic surface in water. In addition, the hydrophobic to hydrophilic reorganization in water exhibits a unique pattern comprised of both the holes and the elevations of the same hydrophilic component, distinctly different from the typical dewetting pattern shown by the hydrophilic to hydrophobic reorganization in air.
