Fabrication of BCP loaded PCL/PLGA fibers as a scaffold for bone tissue engineering application |

Bone tissue engineering is a rapidly developed field that support to replacement of diseased or damaged bone. Recently, PCL and PLGA are interesting polymer to produce bio-compatible, bio-degradable scaffold. In this study, we propose to make a PCL/PLGA loaded BCP to improve attachment, proliferation of osteoblast cell. BCP powder was successfully loaded into PCL/PLGA fibers and using MG63 cell line, we observed that the cells was very fast extension on the membrane (60min) and did not have greatly change in morphology. Protein component of the cells grew on the scaffold was tested by SDS-PAGE and we did not find any change of protein band. Compare with PCL/PLGA membrane PCL/PLGA/BCP scaffold has some advantages for adhesion, proliferation of osteoblast cell. Our result suggests that PCL/PLGA/BCP is the promising material for bone subtitue. For further application, we will focus on differentiation of MSC cell on the scaffold and in vivo testing. |
