We fabricated micropatterns of polymer thin films by the layer-by-layer self-assembling method with aqueous polyelectrolyte solutions on the micropatterned self-assembled monolayers fabricated by micro-contact printing. Various functional materials including conducting polymers, magnetic nanoparticles, and photocatalytic nanoparticles can be incorporated into the micropatterned thin film to produce functional micropatterns. We also demonstrated nanopatterns of diblock copolymer micelles with dip-pen nanolithography (DPN), in which diblock copolymer micelles were directly deposited from an AFM tip onto the substrate. This nanopattern of diblock copolymer micelles by DPN can be utilized as a nanostructured template for synthesis of various nanoparticles. Fabricated micro and nano patterns were characterized mainly by scanning probe microscopy. |
