제목 Graphene-based Nanocomposite RO Membranes for Enhanced Chemical Resistance
초록 From this work, we studied about effect of functionalized grapheme sheet and other additives for improving performances of reverse osmosis (RO) membrane. Functionalized graphenes were prepared by chemical reaction and its functionality was analytically examined. Various ways are used for inclusion of materials on m-Phenylenediamine (MPD) based polyamide (PA) membrane, includes direct dispersion on monomers and layer-by-layer deposition on surface. And these techniques also applied on alternate type of PA membrane, based on piperazine. By controlled layer-by-layer deposition of charged graphene, chemical resistance of PA membrane is notably increased and this deposition is illustrated by FE-SEM. On the other hand, modified carbon materials were dispersed on aqueous solution and polymerized for composition of PA membrane. This type of membrane is tested for performance and resistance check, and shows good chlorine resistance compared to normal PA membrane.
