제목 | Weather and Abrasion Resistance of Sol-Gel Thin Film with HPT and Modified HALS for Transparent Plastics |
초록 | Polycarbonate(PC) is widely used in applications which high impact resistance and transparency are required. Exposure of PC to UV light leads to surface degradation affecting the properties of polymer, particularly, impact strength, clarity(yellowing) and scratching. In general, benzophenone(BP) and benzotriazile(BTA) classes had been used as UV absorbers(UVAs) to prohibit the photodegradation of PC. Recently, hydroxyphenyltriazine(HPT) has been used as UVAs. However, virgin HPT in sol-gel thin film is subject to the loss of UV-stabilization by its blooming and cracking whose effectiveness is limited. Therefore we introduced hindered amine light stabilizers(HALS) as radical scavenger to improve UV absorption and life-time of HALS. Also, in order to inhibit blooming of HALS, we introduced modified HALS or modified HALS2 into the sol-gel network. And the novel sol-gel thin films were prepared by MTES, SiO2 and modified HALS or HALS2. |
