Effect of Polymer Structure on Electromagnetic Properties of Ni-Zn Type Ferrite Composites |

Effect of polymer structure on electromagnetic properties of polymer/Ni-Zn type ferrite composites is investigated. Poly(phenylene oxide) (PPO) and poly(phenylene amide) (PPA) are used as resin. To obtain the semi-interpenetrating network (semi-IPN) of polymer, 2,2-bis(4-cyanatophenyl)propane (CPP) is used as crosslinking agent. The composites are fabricated via melt-mixing of crosslinking agent and peroxide in PPO or PPA. Permittivity and permeability of semi-IPN polymer/ferrite composites are measured by coaxial method using vector network analyzer (VNA). Permittivity and permeability of PPO/ferrite composites is lower value than PPA/gerrite composites. The crosslinking with CPP is effective for lowering the permittivity due to the suppression of the orientation polarization of matrix. |
