Crystallinity Effects on the Surface Rearrangement of Oxygen Plasma Treated Low Density Polyethylene |
초록 |
Plasma treated polymer surface shows rapid hydrophobic recovery after plasma treatment. Because in the crystalline region the mobility of polymer chain was restricted, the surface rearrangement of high crystalline polymer would be reduced. Surface rearrangement rate and the hydrophilicity change of LDPE with different crystallinity after oxygen plasma treatment were observed. LDPE quenched in liquid nitrogen after melting and annealed LDPE were plasma treated with oxygen. Water contact angles of quenched and annealed LDPE just after plasma treatment were almost same. But with aging time annealed LDPE showed lower aging rate than quenched LDPE. XPS analysis with aging also showed lower decreasing rate of oxygen concentration with annealed LDPE than with quenched LDPE. Increasing crystallinity reduce the surface rearrangement of polymer after oxygen plasma treatment. |
