Solid polymer electrolytes for lithium batteries have many advantages over liquid electrolytes, such as mechanical property, processing flexibility, and safety. However, their conductivity at room temperature is usually too low to applicable. In order to increase the conductivity and physical properties, many types of fillers had been studied. In this work, the polymeric electrolyte composites (PECs) based on poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) and various inorganic fillers were prepared to study the filler effects on the mechanical strength and electrochemical properties. By using a mesoporous and ordered-structured inorganic fillers rather than conventional fillers, the improved electrochemical properties could be expected. As a result, the pore structure and crystalline structure of the composite electrolytes had been changed, and the relating electrochemical properties had been modified. |
