제목 Catalytic degradation of polystyrene using clay materials
초록 Several solid acids such as clinoptilolite(Natural Zeolite) and clay materials (Halloysite, Pyrophillite, Montmorillonite K30) are screened for their performances in the catalytic degradation of polystyrene. We investigated the catalytic degradation of polystyrene in a semi-batch reactor at 400℃. The catalysts showed good catalytic activity for the degradation of PS with high selectivity to aromatics liquids than thermal degradation, and has more efficient to crack dimmer and trimer. Styrene is the major product, and ethylbenzene is the second most abundant one in the liquid product. The increase of surface acidity enhanced the production of ethylbenzene by promoting the hydrogenation reaction of styrene. The objective of this study is to examine the effects of catalyst acidity and contact time on the distribution of aromatics.
