Heparin is best known for its anticoagulant properties, and also interacts with various proteins that have heparin-binding domains. So, heparin containing systems have been developed for the sustained release of proteins. In this study, We synthesize heparin conjugated thermo responsive triblock copolymer poly(ɛ-caprolactone-co-lactide)-poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(ɛ-caprolactone-co-lactide) (PCLA–PEG–PCLA) triblock copolymers for sustain release. The copolymers were synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR and GPC. The aqueous solution of the conjugate exhibits temperature dependent sol-gel phase transitions that can be turned by changing solution concentration and heparin composition. The gel window well covers the physiological condition. Such conjugate hydrogel can be considered as a potential candidate for long-term delivery of proteins. |
