제목 Preparation of ion exchange membrane using various molecular weight polystyrene via post-sulfonation
초록 Non-crosslinking type cation exchange membranes were prepared using polystyrene of various different molecular weight. Molecular weights of polystyrenes used are 170000, 550000, and 2000000 g/mol, respectively. Sulfuric acid was used as a sulfonation agent in the experiment. The prepared membranes were investiged using elemental analysis, water uptake, electrical resistance, ion exchange capacity(IEC), and tensile strength. Tensile strength of 170000, 550000, and 2000000 g/mol polystyrene are 75.53, 49.36, and 25.97 N. Tensile strength of membrane increased with increasing the Molecular weight.
