Magnetite nanoparticles (MNPs) have been widely used as dual functional drug carrier having therapeutic and diagnostic ability. But, MNPs as drug carrier has limitations that low drug capacity. In order to develop theragnostic drug carrier with high drug loading ability, thermo-sensitive polymer decorated MNP was evaluated. Firstly, Magnetite was fabricated by coprecipitation and subsequently decorated with thiolated Pluronic F-127 by metal-thiol interactions. Doxorubicin was physically encapsulated within Pluronic F-127 decorated magnetite by modulating temperatures from 4°C to 37°C. Dynamic laser scattering revealed that size of MNPs was increased to 300nm at 37°C while it was 20nm at 4°C. Moreover, the loading amount of doxorubicin at 37°C was increased compared to those at 4°C. Therefore, MNP encapsulated maximum amount of doxorubicin at 37°C. In this study, we showed that the doxorubicin-encapsulated MNPs could be applied for cancer detecting and drug delivery carrier. |
