Chiral optoelectronic devices based on organic semiconductor thin-films |

Chiral photonics based on circularly polarized light has garnered increasing interest in recent years owing to a wide range of future applications. π-Conjugated molecules (i.e. organic semiconductor) are one of the most promising chiroptical semiconductor materials because their optical rotation properties can be modulated by intentional designing of structural asymmetry. To achieve the high performance chiral optoelectronic device, a new strategy for organic semiconductor thin-films with not only strong chiroptical activity but also good charge transport properties that can be directly applicable to the optoelectronic devices, is required. This presentation will cover a two efficient strategies for high-performance chiral optoelectronic devices; (I) self-organization of chiral small molecule/polymer semiconductor blends thin films and (ii) near infrared chiroptical phototransistors and its application to highly strong optoelectronic encryption. |
