Autotrophic astaxanthin production of Haematococcus pluvialis via the heat stress-driven Haber-Weiss reaction |
초록 |
Photoautotrophic astaxanthin production of Haematococcus pluvialis has a variety of advantages of preventing bacterial contamination and augmenting astaxanthin titer and CO2 conversion. Although multiple adverse conditions to implement an increment in astaxanthin production were previously reported, high temperatures were not a feasible stress for efficacious photoautotrophic induction in our work. Because the capacity of carotenogenesis was highly depressed by the less reactive oxygen species (LROS; O2- and H2O2) excessively generated at high temperatures (30-36°C) in contrast to the more reactive oxygen species (MROS; O2 and OH•). This inefficient astaxanthin production was resolved by accelerating Iron-catalyzed Haber-Weiss reaction to convert LROS into MROS, facilitating lipid peroxidation. The heat stress-driven Haber Weiss reaction will improve the photoautotrophic astaxanthin production from H. pluvialis under high temperatures via the ratio control between Iron ions and LROS. |
