Chiral inorganic nanoparticles have triggered tremendous attention due to their potential applications and technological prospects. Even though various strategies have been developed to fabricate chiral inorganic nanoparticles, the complex processes and high cost remain formidable challenges to realize mass production and large-area fabrication. Here, we propose a generalized strategy for the preparation of chiral inorganic nanoparticles based on achiral templates consisting of block copolymer reverse micelles and racemic mixtures. In-situ formed inorganic nanoparticles (NPs) of Au NPs, Ag NPs, Pd NPs, and TiO2 NPs in the micellar cores exhibit significant chiroptical properties, although chiral molecules and scaffolds were not involved in any process. This work sheds light on the forward steps to build an extended library of viable chiral inorganic nanostructures, ensuring a substantial advance in the field of chiroptics. |
