In this study, graphite oxide (GO) was synthesized by the modification of Hummer’s method. And, the porous graphite prepared from GO with KOH activation are used to fabricate electrodes for supercapacitors. The BET surface area, pore volume, and pore size distribution of the porous graphite were evaluated using N2 adsorption/desorptioin isotherms at 77 K. The surface morphology was characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The electrochemical performance of porous graphite was determined by galvanostatic charge/discharge characteristics and cyclic voltammetry using two-electrode system in 6 M KOH solutions, and compared with that of a commercial AC, which was especially prepared for use in supercapacitors. |
