To obtain chitosan oligosaccharides(COS) with various molecular weights, COS with lactic acid was separated by using ultrafilteration technique. The characterization of COS was identified by FT-IR, 1H-NMR, UV, and GPC. In addition, the antibiotic activity and mechanism of COS were examined in pathogenic bacteria cells and vesicles containing bacterial membrane lipids.
