Two new green-emitting heteroleptic iridium (III) complexes as (3-CF3BNO-EH)2Ir(dpp) and (3-CF3BNO-EH)2Ir(ppp) based on amide bridged trifluoromethyl (-CF3) substituted phenyl pyridine skeleton with symmetrical and unsymmetrical phosphoryl ancillary ligands were successfully synthesized. The photophysical, electrochemical, thermal and EL properties of Ir (III) complexes were systematically investigated. The complexes were analyzed by means of HPLC. The results showed that the Ir(III) complexes had high thermal stabilities, high quantum yield and strong green emissions. The solution processed light-emitting devices based on the (3-CF3BNO-EH)2Ir(dpp) complex exhibit a maximum external quantum efficiency of 17.23%, current efficiency of 60.08 cd/A and maximum brightness of 28,352 cd/m2 whereas, (3-CF3BNO-EH)2Ir(dpp) showed a maximum electroluminescence of 515 nm with CIE coordinates (0.305, 0.625) respectively. |
