Effect of crystal structure on photocatalytic properties of TiO2 layer on SiO2/Fe2O3 composites |

Thephotocatalytic composites with SiO2/Fe2O3/TiO2 core-shell structure were prepared by a facile method using SiO2 spheres as core material. The crystal structure of TiO2 on SiO2/Fe2O3 composite was controlled using acid catalyzed hydrolysis method at the mild reaction temperature. The physical properties were confirmed with SEM, XRD, UV-vis spectroscopy, and FT-IR analysis. The photocatalytic behaviorsof TiO2 layer with different crystalline structure on SiO2/Fe2O3 composites were investigated by the photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue aqueous solution under UV light and Visible light. |
