제목 | Ethylene/Carbon monoxide Copolymerization via Inverse Suspension Polymerization |
초록 | Polyketone is insoluble in common organic solvents and precipitates during copolymerization as irregular white powders of low bulk density, causing problems in the post-reaction processes. The traditional suspension polymerization produces well-controlled polymer particles of 0.01~1.0 mm, which are easy to control. To control the morphology of the polyketone particles in the ethylene/CO copolymerization, polyketone was synthesized by inverse suspension polymerization. In the bulk production of polymers, morphology control of the polymer particles without reactor fouling is crucial. This work achieved by employing the inverse suspension polymerization technique in ethylene/CO copolymerization. Pressurizing with CO and ethylene on catalyst containing alcohol droplets dispersed in n-hexane produces well-controled polymer particles with high bulk densities and relatively high molecular weight (Mn=250,000). |
