This research is the development of lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) strip based on colloidal gold for the detection of ractopamine. Ractopamine is the family of β-agonists, which are widely used as growth promotant to increase feed efficiency and weight gain of livestock production. Despite these advantages, ractopamine is narrowly approved in many countries due to its potential risks for human. Many analytical methods for the monitor of ractopamine in livestock depend on instrument-based analysis such as HPLC, LS/MS, GC/MS, and fluorescence. Even though these methods have high selectivity, sensitivity, and accuracy, are need to high cost, sophisticated technique, and complicated sample pretreatment procedure. LFIA technique, which is used in this study, gives many advantages such as the cost-effectiveness, rapid detection, and simplicity. As a result, The developed LFIA strips in this research is expected as an analysis method for early detection of ractopamine in pork. |
