제목 Trimethylamine Gas Sensor Using Rh-Doped SnO2 Hollow Spheres
초록 The Trimethylamine (TMA) concentration is a useful measure to determine fish freshness because its concentration increases as the fish decays. Because Trimethylamine (TMA) is secreted during the decomposition of trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO) in dead fish and sea creatures.
In this work, we report that an ultrahigh response to TMA can be achieved by the loading of Rh to SnO2 hollow spheres. The response (resistance ratio) of the Rh-doped SnO2 hollow spheres to 5 ppm TMA at 400°C was 1177.5, which is 33 times higher than that of pure SnO2 hollow spheres. The detection limit of the sensor was as low as 5 ppb. The main focus of the current study is the sensitive and selective detection of TMA using SnO2 hollow spheres loaded with Rh catalysts. The role of Rh in the gas-sensing reactions of SnO2 hollow spheres was investigated, and it is discussed herein with respect to the catalytic promotion of surface reactions and electronic interactions with the SnO2 nanostructures
