제목 Synthesis and Characterization of Biphenyl Epoxy Nanocomposites via Pre-intercalated Phenolic Hardeners
초록 Epoxy resin-layered silicate nanocomposites were successfully synthesized using pre-intercalated novolac resin-layered silicate nanocomposites as epoxy hardeners. We used melt intercalation methods to prepare NR-LSN with different kinds of novolac resins including phenolic novolac, bisphenol-A novolac and phenol aralkyl novolac, so-called xylok. Various kinds of organically modified montmorillonites, such as dimethyl benzyl hydrogenated tallow quaternary ammonium, bis(2-hydroxyethyl) methyl tallow quaternary ammonium, steary ammonium and protonated hexamethylenetetramine, were also used to compare chemical affinity between epoxy resin and organic group in MMT. We detected the structural changes during cure process in Epoxy resin-layered silicate nanocomposites by TEM and X-rd. Enhancements of thermal, chemical and mechanical properties in Epoxy resin-layered silicate nanocomposites also confirmed using DSC, UTM, Rheometer.
