제목 Direct Observation of the Phase Transition from Hexagonally Perforated Lamellar (HPL) to Double Gyroid (DG)
초록 Recently we have reported on the stacking structure of HPL phase and the epitaxial phase transition of polystyrene-block-polyisoprene (PS-b-PI) from HPL to DG phase in supported thin film by grazing incidence small-angle X-ray scattering.[Macromolecules 2005, 38, 10532] The HPL layers are oriented parallel to the substrate due to the preferential wetting of the Si wafer surface with the PI blocks and the perforations have the ABC type stacking. Because the phase transition occur epitaxially, (121) planes of DG phase are also oriented parallel to the substrate after the phase transition. In this study, we followed the phase transition by cross-sectional transmission electron microscopy. The ABC type stacking sequence in HPL structure and the epitaxial phase transition from HPL to DG were confirmed unambiguously. Moreover, structural relationship between HPL and DG were found out in more detail by transmission electron microtomography which shows 3-dimensional structure.
