ydrogels are three-dimensional hydrophilic polymeric networks that can absorb a large amount of water or biological fluids. Hydrogels are attractive biomedical applications, such as drug delivery and tissue engineering. However, it is known that the fabrication of hydrogels with both adhesiveness and excellent mechanical properties is difficult. Biomimetic mussel-inspired adhesive hydrogel was shown to have promising potential as an adhesive. In this study, copolymers based on mussel inspired DOPA derivatives-PAM hydrogel was fabricated by the polymerization of acrylamide monomers at the presence of initiator and cross-linker without the assistance of external stimuli. These copolymers have various acrylate functional groups in the DOPA derivatives, which have been prepared by radical polymerization. IPN structured hydrogels with copolymers based on DOPA derivatives and PAM exhibit highly elastic properties, toughness and adhesiveness. |
