제목 Removal of arsenate and phosphate from aqueous solutions using Fe-sericite composite beads
초록 The present study deals with the preparation and characterization of Fe-sericite composite beads and its efficient utilization for the removal of As(V) and phosphate from aqueous solutions. Fine sericite powder was modified using iron-oxide and then utilized in the beads preparation using alginate.  The materials were characterized using SEM-EDX, XRD, FT-IR, N2 adsorption-desorption isotherm and XPS analyses. The sorption data were collected under batch and fixed-bed reactor. The composite beads show edhigh percentage removal of As(V) with in a wide pH range, i.e. between pH 3.0-9.0. Moreover, a high percentage removal was obtained in a wide range of initial As(V) concentrations and the equilibrium sorption data fit well to the Langmuir and Freundlichad sorption isotherms. Furthermore, the kinetic data follows both pseudo-firstorder and pseudo-second order kinetic models.
