제목 Degradation of organic dye using Fe-Mn supported natural clay as heterogeneous fenton catalyst
초록 The present study addresses the preparation of heterogeneous Fenton catalysts using naturally abundant bentonite clay and its application in the degradation of organic dye in aqueous media. The Fe and Mn were successfully incorporated with manganese to obtain dual metal heterogeneous catalysts. The catalyst obtained was characterized with the help of SEM-EDX, BET, XRD and FT-IR analyses. The SEM has shown the changes in surface morphology of bentonite after the introduction of iron as well as manganese particles. Moreover, a diffraction peak corresponding to basal spacing of the 001 plane was found to collapsed after the heat treatment. The effect of pH, initial As(V) concentration, and contact time on the degradation of dye were studied and it was observed that the Fe-Mn modified bentonite could be used as an efficient heterogeneous photo-Fenton catalyst for the treatment of dye-containing wastewater.
