제목 BMP-2-Loaded Porous Membrane with Leaf-Stacked Structure as a GBR membrane
초록 In this study, we develop an asymmetrically porous membrane with leaf-stacked structure (LSS membrane; top with nano-sized pores and bulk/bottom with leaf-stacked structure) by an immersion-precipitation method using polycarprolactone (PCL)/Pluronic F127 mixture solution (in tetraglycol). The bone morphogenetic protein-2 (BMP-2) is immobilized on the pore surfaces of the LSS membrane by immersion of the membrane in the BMP-2 solution. The BMP-2 immobilized in the LSS membrane is continuously released up to 38 days (without additional modifications of the matrix) to accelerate osteogenic differentiation of human periosteum-derived cells (hPDCs) and bone regeneration (carvarial defect rat model). It is also recognized that the leaf-stacked structure itself can be a physical stimulus for bone regeneration, and the stimulation effect is comparable with the continuously released BMP-2. Moreover, we observe the combined effect of BMP-2 and leaf-stacked structure for bone healing.
