Hydrogels having three-dimensional networks have developed for medical use. When applying hydrogels onto a wound, a secondary dressing is required, because it is amorphous and too wet. However, adhesive hydrogels aren't requied secondary dressing. Adhesive hydrogels are prepared with dextrin and methacrylic acid. After functionalized hydroxyl groups of dextrin with mathacrylate groups of mathacrylic acid, dextrin is rendered photocrosslinkable. Adhesion of the hydrogels can be controled the degree of methacrylation(DM) by altering the reacting ratio of dextrin and methacrylic acid. DM is calculated by the 1H NMR peaks at 1.8~2.0 ppm. To evaluate the biodegradability of hydrogels, we measured swelling ratio, cell viability, protein absorption, inflammatory response and to measure the physical properties of hydrogels, we observed morphology by FE-SEM, shear strength and bond strength by Rheometer. According to the evaluation, hydrogels' characteristics are suitable for wound dressing. |
