New donor-acceptor conjugated polymers (PTDFQx, PTFQx), which consists of di- or mono- fluorinated Quinoxaline (Qx) as a electron-acceptor unit were synthesized via a Stille coupling reaction. These polymers contained Thiophene as a donor. Hexyl and Dodecyl alkyl side chain were introduced into the fluorinated Qx units, and the solubility, thermal properties, absorption spectra, energy levels, and photovoltaic propertises of the resulting polymers were investigated. Hexyl-substituted Qx-based polymer was insoluble in conventional organic solvents. A polymer solar cell device prepared using dodecyl-substituted Qx as the active layer exhibited a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 2.02 % with a high open circuit voltage (VOC) of 0.87 V without post treatments, solvent additives. |
