To reduce the aggregate or excimer formation in light-emitting poly(di-n-didodecylfluorene)s (PF) during annealing at high temperatures, organic-inorganic hybrid materials of 2,7-dibromo-9,9-didodecyl-fluorene were synthesized by non-hydrolytic sol-gel reaction. The PF rod-segment was prepared by the Yamamoto-type coupling of 2,7-dibromo-9,9-didodecyl-fluorene using a Ni(COD)2 catalyst as a reductive transition metal-base coupling agent. The introduction of the silyl moieties in the PF segment, 3-(triethoxysilyl)propylisocyanate was added in the reaction mixture. The non-hydrolytic sol-gel reaction of the silyl-terminal PF rod segments with inorganic precursors and diols was performed at 80oC, and followed by thermal condensation for the elimination of methanol as a byproduct. The thin films of these materials were prepared by spin coating, and further cured under UV irradiation. The photoluminescence spectra of these materials were measured during annealing at high temperature. |
